Engine Anti Icing System Operation

Engine Anti Icing System Operation

  • Had a question regarding Engine Anti system operation, there is a note which says
“Stall Warning Logic, Airspeed Indications and minimum maneuver speeds on the airspeed indicator return to normal when engine anti icing is switched off if wing anti ice was not used in flight…”
My question is due to the bleed air there wud be a slight decrease in the thrust produced and therfore a slight reduction in N1… then why does the different airspeed changes?? Plz help…
  • Waka waka the thing is, there arent any airspeed changes. Only the stick shaker initiation changes from Vs1g x 1.07 to Vs1g x 1.07 + 10 knots. Im not very sure of this. I remember reading it somewhere.
Also the PLI and min manoeuvre speed changes. There is no other change on the airspeed tape.
When bleed is used, the EEC automatically gives a new higher N1 to maintain thrust. This can only happen till your max cruise thrust. Therefore it is not advisable to use wing anti ice above 350 as it may cause a dual bleed trip off.
